Arrest warrant issued for man accused of sexually assaulting runaway teenagers | News

EUGENE, Oregon — An arrest warrant has been issued for a man accused of picking up runaway teenagers, giving them methamphetamine and then sexually abusing them.

On the morning of June 14, charges of third-degree rape and second-degree sexual abuse were filed against Christopher Jay Young, 40, in Lane County District Court. However, Young failed to appear in court, and an arrest warrant was issued.

According to court documents, the mother of a 15-year-old girl told a Lane County Sheriff’s Office officer in February 2024 that Young raped the girl after picking her and a friend up in his Camaro. He then allegedly drove her to a wooded area and offered her methamphetamine. When she refused, Young allegedly smoked meth, blew it in the girl’s face and raped her.

Also in February, Springfield police released a report that Young had done the same thing to at least three teenagers who were on the run. The FBI assisted in part of the investigation, and on April 17, 2024, Young was charged with recording sexual abuse of a minor.
