Teenager arrested in connection with Denham Springs shooting that left one person injured

DENHAM SPRINGS, Louisiana (BRPROUD) – An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting in Denham Springs that left one person injured.

Denham Springs Police said 17-year-old Jeremiah Garner of Walker was arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred in Denham Springs on Wednesday, June 12. Garner was charged with attempted first-degree murder.


According to a Denham Springs Police spokesperson, officers responded to a reported shooting around 4 p.m. Wednesday at Summers Street and Cross Street, near PARDS LM Lockhart Park.

Denham Springs police said the victim suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

“I am extremely proud of the work that went into this arrest,” said Denham Springs Police Chief Rodney Walker. “This is not how we want to start our summer here in Denham Springs, but I am proud of our officers, especially our investigators who have worked around the clock, for the work they have done so far.”
