FALLS TOWNSHIP, Pennsylvania (WPVI) – A 33-year-old man was convicted Friday of repeatedly raping a girl in Falls Township, Bucks County.

The investigation began in November 2022 when Falls Township Police received reports of a child having “possibly inappropriate contact with an adult.”

The victim, who was ten years old at the time, told police that Hegelein had raped her several times two years before the investigation began.

The girl also reportedly told police that Hegelein would show her pornography.

During the investigation, authorities said they had executed a search warrant for Hegelein’s apartment.

According to police, DNA traces were found that linked Hegelein to the victim. Pornographic images were also found on his cell phone, some of which were allegedly taken from the victim’s apartment.

During the trial, Assistant District Attorney Jovin Jose said Hegelein had exploited his relationship with the girl’s mother for years to rape her.

The girl, now twelve years old, testified and described in detail what she had to endure.

“This is the second time this week that I have the honor of commending the strength of a young victim who stood up to the perpetrator who preyed on her,” said District Attorney Jennifer Schorn. “Thanks to her strength and the outstanding work of the prosecution team, this defendant was found guilty of these heinous crimes.”

The verdict for Hegelein is now expected to be announced in four months.
