1 dead in head-on collision in Gladwyne: Police

According to Lower Merion police, the crash that left one person dead and another injured occurred at 11:02 a.m. on Conshohocken State Road in Gladwyne.

GLADWYNE, PA — One person is dead and another is being recovered after a head-on collision Friday in Gladwyne.

Lower Merion Township police said a 51-year-old man died as a result of the accident and a 75-year-old woman was hospitalized.

According to authorities, the accident occurred around 11:02 a.m. in the 600 block of Conshohocken State Road in Gladwyne.

A 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross driven by the man was traveling west in that block when it crossed the double yellow line, police said. After the Toyota crossed the line, it collided head-on with a 2012 GMC Terrain driven by the woman, police said.

Both the man and the woman were the only occupants of their respective vehicles.

During the accident investigation, Conshohocken State Road between Scott Road and
and Henry Lane for about four hours.
