Kanika Jackson, a former teacher at Smyrna High School in Delaware, was arrested for allegedly physically and verbally abusing students

SMYRNA, Del. (WPVI) – A high school teacher in Smyrna, Delaware, was arrested after allegedly verbally and physically abusing students in her class.

Kanika Jackson, 40, was employed at Smyrna High School.

Smyrna police began investigating the allegations in February of this year.

They found that Jackson had allegedly laid hands on students on three separate occasions during the school year.

In one case, authorities say she grabbed a student by the neck.
