First weather warning: Pleasant weekend, then yellow warning for potentially dangerous heat next week

Take advantage of the fresh, pleasant and beautiful weather this weekend, because next week is going to be really hot! We have issued a yellow warning for Tuesday and Wednesday next week, as air temperatures are expected to be between 35 and 35 degrees, and the heat index will be above 38 degrees at times in the afternoon and early evening.

Monday is expected to reach the 30s, but dew points will initially remain low enough to make the heat bearable. Tuesday and Wednesday (and possibly Thursday) the heat and humidity will likely peak. This type of heat can catch you off guard if you’re not careful or take precautions. Take regular breaks when working or playing outside, and limit time in the sun if possible. Also, wear light-colored clothing to reflect some of the sun’s energy instead of absorbing it with dark clothing. Check on your older family members and neighbors, and don’t forget the pets! Although daytime temperatures will be hot, we won’t see much relief overnight, as temperatures likely won’t drop above 20 degrees for most. The heat wave will ease over the weekend, but we’re in for a hot final week of spring!

Until then, enjoy the much cooler and more pleasant weather this weekend with highs of around 21°C on Saturday and around 27°C on Sunday with low humidity and plenty of sunshine. Perfect weather for outdoor activities and barbecues!
