A young mother was brutally beaten and sexually harassed in her home by an intruder wearing a Batman mask as a disguise. The ordeal was terrifying, but it became even more horrifying when the woman suspected that her masked attacker could possibly be her estranged husband.

Morgan Metzer married She and her high school sweetheart, Rodney Metzer, had twins. She says they remained friends even after their divorce. Then an intruder wearing a mask broke into their house.

“He came first, hit me with a gun and punched me several times,” Morgan tells Inside Edition. “When he decided to strangle me, it was the worst pain you can imagine.”

She says her attacker altered his voice to sound like that of the fictional superhero Batman.

Morgan says she didn’t recognize the intruder at first, but then suspected the attacker might be her estranged husband.

Fearing that he would kill her, Morgan did not let on that she knew who the attacker was.

The attacker then fled and left her tied up with cable ties.

Footage from a door camera shows Rodney at Morgan’s house in Canton. Georgia40 minutes later, not in disguise, but dressed as a hero to come to her aid.

“My ex decided to come to my house and act like he was my savior,” Morgan says. “All I heard was, ‘Oh, honey, what happened to you?'”

Rodney called 911.

When the police arrived, Rodney tried to explain why he was there. He claimed someone had knocked on his window and said his wife was in trouble. The police didn’t believe him.

“There’s no way someone would knock on your window and say her name and you’d come over right away to check on her,” a police officer tells Rodney on Ring camera footage. “That’s a long way away.”

Authorities arrested Rodney at the scene.

“It’s something I can’t even describe. I married this man and thought he would be mine forever. I loved him,” Morgan says.

Rodney pleaded guilty to 14 charges, including kidnapping and sexual abuse. He was sentenced to 70 years in prison. The case has now been made into a Lifetime movie called “Gaslit By My Husband.”
