Spokesperson: Syed Haneff Ahmed charged after pedestrian was struck and killed by car at corner of Devon and Crawford Avenue in Lincolnwood, Illinois

LINCOLNWOOD, Ill. (WLS) – A Maryland man has been charged with causing a traffic accident in a northern suburb in February that killed a pedestrian.

According to police, the accident occurred on Sunday, February 11, shortly after 4 p.m. in Lincolnwood at the intersection of Devon and Crawford Avenue.

A Lincolnwood spokesman said Friday that a police investigation revealed that Syed Haneff Ahmed was driving west on Devon Avenue at a high rate of speed when his vehicle struck a pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was charged with vehicular manslaughter, speeding 35 mph, improper lane usage, improper passing/3+ wheels, and improper lane change without using turn signal.

The authorities did not initially provide any further information.
