Roseburg Police Take Man to Jail on Alleged Theft/Arrest Warrant – KQEN News Radio

Roseburg police arrested a man on suspicion of theft and warrants Thursday night.

An RPD report said 25-year-old Joey Dingus walked into a restaurant in the 1000 block of Northeast Stephens Street at 7:10 p.m., stood behind the counter, opened the register and allegedly stole $65 in cash. An employee recognized Dingus and followed him as he left the restaurant as a passenger in a vehicle. The employee told dispatch that the car had stopped in front of a business in the 1600 block of Northeast Stephens Street and that the suspect was still in the vehicle.

Officers arrived at the scene and arrested Dingus. During the investigation, dispatch confirmed that there were two warrants for the man’s arrest. Dingus admitted to taking the money that was found on him. An illegal amount of methamphetamine was also reportedly found on him.

Dingus was charged with third-degree theft and both warrants. He was cited for methamphetamine. Bail was set at $16,250.
