Woman killed in hit-and-run in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama (WIAT) – A 58-year-old Tuscaloosa woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday evening.

According to Tuscaloosa police, the woman was struck and killed on Englewood Village Drive around 9:30 p.m. The woman, whose identity was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

According to police, the woman was suffering from an illness that may have caused her to collapse while walking before she was hit by the vehicle.

Authorities are still trying to find the driver who hit the woman and fled the scene.
