Two people arrested in separate drunk driving cases

The following list contains current reports from the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the Midland Police Department, compiled by reporter Tereasa Nims.

11:06 p.m. – Officers investigated a vehicle in a ditch in Warren Township. They made contact with a 49-year-old man. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the man was intoxicated and did not have a valid driver’s license. He was arrested for DUI and driving without a license. The man was taken to the Midland County Jail and a report was sent to the District Attorney.

8:12 p.m. – Officers spoke with a 42-year-old homeless man in Lee Township who was yelling at vehicles on the street and harassing customers of a business in the township. The man left the area on foot after declining a ride.

7:18 p.m. – Officers were dispatched to a location in Jerome Township regarding a man walking on the highway. Officers made contact with the 43-year-old man on the highway and advised him that he was not allowed to walk on the highway. The man agreed to take the next exit.

3:40 p.m. – An officer was dispatched to a residence in Jerome Township on a report by a 68-year-old man that tools had been stolen from his shed.

11:08 a.m. – Officers were dispatched to a residence in Greendale Township to assist firefighters with a house fire.

7:39 a.m. – An officer was dispatched to a residence in Lincoln Township to speak with a 43-year-old man who reported an unknown person walking around his property overnight. A report was made.

3:59 a.m. – Officers were dispatched to a residence in Greendale Township to file a civil complaint. Officers made contact with the 42-year-old male landlord of the residence by phone. The landlord informed officers that he wanted a 48-year-old man off his property. Officers informed the landlord that this was a civil matter and informed him of the eviction process.

1:19 a.m. – An officer was dispatched to a location in Homer Township for a report of a suspicious situation. A 17-year-old Homer Township male called to report that his vehicle alarm had gone off multiple times for an unknown reason. An officer canvassed the area and found nothing unusual.

12:03 a.m. – Officers conducted a traffic stop at a location in Porter Township. Officers made contact with the 58-year-old male driver. Upon further investigation, authorities determined the man was intoxicated and did not have a valid driver’s license. The man was arrested for DUI and driving without a license. The man was booked into the Midland County Jail without incident. A report will be forwarded to the District Attorney for review.
