Man dead after shooting in southern Jefferson County, police said

A man is dead after an overnight shooting in southern Jefferson County. LMPD said the shooting happened just after 3 a.m. Friday in the 5500 block of Woodcross Place, east of Preston Highway and south of the Highview area. Police said when they arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene. LMPD’s Homicide Unit responded and is investigating. No suspects are known at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call 574-LMPD.

A man is dead after an overnight shooting in southern Jefferson County.

According to LMPD, the shooting occurred shortly after 3 a.m. Friday in the 5500 block of Woodcross Place, east of Preston Highway and south of the Highview area.

When police arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

The LMPD homicide squad responded and is investigating.

No suspects have been identified at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call 574-LMPD.
