1 dead, 4 injured in two-vehicle collision on Highway 101 in Los Alamos

LOS ALAMOS, CA (June 14, 2024) – One person died in a two-car crash on Highway 101 near Highway 135.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the fatal car crash occurred on Thursday around 4:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, two vehicles collided on Highway 101 in Los Alamos. The Santa Barbara County Fire Department then arrived at the scene and airlifted one of the four people to a hospital for treatment of her injuries. They also transported a small child to the hospital by ambulance.

In total, four people sustained injuries of varying degrees, including two with serious injuries. However, one person, whose identity officials have not released, died in the accident.

Authorities have not yet released a statement on the cause of the accident. However, they are investigating the details to find an explanation. If anyone has any additional information, please call the California Highway Patrol.
