ABC-7 First Alert: Dangerously hot Friday, triple-digit temperatures through the weekend

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – It will remain hot on Friday! The ABC-7 First Warning for dangerous heat in the entire border area remains in effect!

Temperatures are expected to reach 38 degrees across the region today. Temperatures of 41 degrees are expected in El Paso and 39 degrees in Las Cruces.

A heat advisory is in effect for El Paso until 6:00 a.m. Saturday. A heat advisory is in effect for Las Cruces until 6:00 a.m. Saturday.

Temperatures will still be hot over the weekend and into the coming work week, but they are likely to be cooler than before.

There is a slight chance of rain with gusty winds in the mountains of the region.
