Two police officers honored for rescuing mules stuck on suspension bridge

Two police officers were awarded for their heroic efforts in rescuing mules stuck on a suspension bridge over the Karnali River.

The Police Headquarters and the Police Office of Karnali Province have specially recognized and awarded the two officers for their efforts during the rescue operation.

The awardees are Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramsingh Pharl and Constable Gangaram Chaudhary, both from Kalekanda Area Police Office in Achham. According to DIG Ravindra KC of Karnali district, they received a cash prize and an award for their services.

In addition, the police headquarters honored the officers for their courageous efforts during the rescue operation.

On June 9, thirteen mules got stuck midway when a rope of the suspension bridge over the Karnali river at Chiltada in Panchdeval Municipality-9, Achham broke. Of the rescued mules, two died but eleven survived.

This suspension bridge connects the Far-Western and Karnali provinces. Specifically, it connects Panchdeval Binayak Municipality-9 in Achham with Aathbis Municipality-4 in Dailekh.
