Man found dead after car crashes into tree in Torrington

TORRINGTON, Connecticut (WTNH) – A man was killed in an accident involving a tree early Friday morning, according to Torrington police.

The accident occurred on Pothier Road around 3:30 a.m.


According to police, a single male inmate was found dead at the scene.

In a traffic alert posted around 8 a.m., Drakeville Volunteer Fire Department officials said Pothier Road remains closed from John Brown Road to Brandy Hill Road. Police could not provide any information on how long the road will be closed.
