13-year-old girl sexually abused in Queens Park

NEW YORK (1010 WIN/WCBS 880) — The New York Police Department launched an investigation after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in a Queens park on Thursday afternoon.

At around 3:30 p.m., a 13-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl were approached by the suspect in Kissena Park near Colden Street and Kalmia Avenue in East Flushing, police said.

According to officials, the suspect dragged the 13-year-old victims into a forest with a knife and took both of their cell phones.

He then sexually abused the girl and fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction, authorities said.

Emergency services took the victims to a local hospital in stable condition.

The suspect was last seen wearing red sneakers and carrying a green backpack. He appeared to be wearing braces and had a tattoo of a wild boar or bull with red eyes on his chest, cops said.

Detectives are conducting video surveillance of the area and the investigation is ongoing.
