Mugger sexually abuses 13-year-old girl in Queens Park

A tattooed mugger with braces robbed and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl in a Queens park, police said Friday.

The girl was with a 13-year-old boy in Kissena Park near the corner of Colden Street and Kalmia Avenue in Flushing around 3:30 p.m. Thursday when the suspect approached her and pulled out a knife, police said.

The thief forced the two children into a wooded area in the park, where he stole their mobile phones.

He sexually abused the girl and then fled, police said.

The children managed to stop someone who called the police. The emergency services took them to a nearby hospital for treatment.

On Friday, police officers searched the area for surveillance footage that could help identify the robber. The perpetrator is described as a Hispanic man in his twenties. He is about 5’5″ tall, has curly hair and was wearing red sneakers and a green backpack during the robbery.

In addition to the braces, the thief had a tattoo of a wild boar or bull with red eyes on his chest, police said.

Anyone with information on the man’s whereabouts is asked to call NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be treated confidentially.
