Ohio man arrested for pointing a loaded gun at his victim in a driving rage incident in Howard County

HOWARD COUNTY, Maryland (DC News Now) — Maryland State Police (MSP) arrested an Ohio man Thursday morning for pulling out a paintball gun during a DUI incident on Interstate 70 in Howard County.

The victim was driving on I-70 West around 9:30 a.m. when it happened. James Wells, 39, was driving a blue Chevrolet and pointed the gun at the victim during the incident.

The victim called the police and was able to provide the license plate number of the car.

MSP officers located the suspect car on westbound I-70 in Frederick and conducted a traffic stop. Wells confirmed that he pointed the gun at the victim and then handed the loaded weapon to officers.

He was arrested and charged with first degree assault. Wells was taken to the Howard County Correctional Department.
