Troy Bridge expected to remain closed until August after tractor-trailer accident

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has announced that the bridge, which was damaged in a tractor-trailer accident in Troy on Wednesday morning, is expected to remain closed until August.

On Wednesday, June 12, a semi-trailer truck carrying an empty steel tank struck several sections of the steel truss bridge that crosses Sugar Creek. As a result, the bridge has been closed and a thorough inspection is currently underway, after which a repair plan will be developed.

Motorists are advised that Route 6 is closed in both directions between Leona Road and Mud Creek Road in Troy Township.

A detour via Leona Road, Springfield Road and Route 14 is in effect until further notice.
