Petersburg Police: Man wanted for grand theft arrested after foot chase

PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A man wanted for grand larceny and destruction of property allegedly led police on a chase and was then arrested arrested in Petersburg Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday, May 7, at 10:31 p.m., Petersburg Bureau of Police officers saw a wanted suspect, identified as Clifton Raines, in the 500 block of East Washington Street.

After a chase, police said Raines was taken into custody without incident. In addition to the grand theft and destruction of property charges for which he was wanted, he was also charged with evading law enforcement.
