One dead after a tree fell on a car in Tazewell, Tennessee

TAZEWELL, Tenn. (WATE) – At least one person has died after severe weather struck parts of East Tennessee, with one death confirmed in Claiborne County.

David Breeding with the Claiborne County EMA confirmed Wednesday afternoon that one fatality was reported after a tree fell on a car at Lone Mountain Road and Jennings Road in Tazewell.

Further details were not yet available.

Storm Team 6 has been tracking storms in the region since early Wednesday, with additional waves of severe weather expected later this evening and overnight Thursday.
