Kuwait fires live updates: Political leaders, including Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, pay tribute to the deceased

A somber mood descended on the residence of Md Ali Hussain in Hindpiri, Ranchi, as his family woke up to the news of his death in a devastating fire in Kuwait. “Hussain (24) went to Kuwait from Ranchi 18 days ago to support his family,” said his father Mubarak Hussain (57).

“This was the first time he left the country. He told us that he had got a job as a salesman there. We never expected that such a devastating incident would happen within 18 days,” Mubarak said. He said he learned of Hussain’s death from one of his son’s colleagues in Kuwait on June 13. But Mubarak did not dare to tell his wife the devastating news until the evening.

“My only request to the Indian government is that it makes arrangements for the repatriation of Hussain’s body to Ranchi,” Mubarak said. – PTI
