Almost 2,000 children injured or killed since the war began in Ukraine

Ukraine (MNN) — Russia’s war is taking a heavy toll on Ukraine’s next generation. According to the UN, nearly 2,000 children have been injured or killed since the war began over two years ago.

But the scars that most children in Ukraine bear are invisible. “One can only imagine how much pain and suffering they have to endure every day,” Key for children Says Greg Yoder.

“They experienced this war first hand and probably saw relatives, friends and family members die.”

Keys for Kids’ partner churches organize summer camps across Ukraine, providing a much-needed respite. “But many of these churches don’t have materials and can’t access them because of the war,” Yoder says.

Keys for Kids has a solution. Yoder says, “We provide them with Keys for Kids and Unlocked, and many of these families find hope through it.”

Keys for Kids needs $50,000 to meet summer camp and holiday worship needs, and a brand new matching grant will match any donation up to $25,000. You can take action here.

Ask the Lord to surround the Ukrainian children with the peace that only He can provide. Praise God for the transformation that is already taking place.

“Not only are they (children and young adults) finding Christ, but their faith is growing, and hopefully they can share their faith as they come into contact with friends and families who are going through this terrible trauma,” Yoder says.

Also pray for Ukrainian church leaders like a Keys for Kids partner in an undisclosed region. This man and his wife are active street evangelists.

Although most people in his congregation left when the war began, “he wanted to stay behind because the need was so great,” Yoder says.

“Now new people are coming. Many are young people, but there are also many old people who could not leave the country because they are physically unable to move around.”
