Norman Reedus pays tribute to the actor’s dog from “The Walking Dead”

Norman Reedus has given his canine co-star from The Walking Dead died. In the zombie drama series, the role of Dog, Daryl Dixon’s companion, was played by Seven.




The news of Seven’s death was announced on the official social media channels for The Walking Dead. A post on Instagram read: “Rest in peace, Seven. TWD‘s best boy.” Reedus also shared the news on his Instagram stories and added his thoughts. The actor wrote: “I’ll miss you for seven years. The best TV buddy ever.” The contributions can be seen below.

The Walking Dead finale answered everyone’s biggest question

A twist in the final minutes of The Walking Dead series finale reveals what happened to a main character without giving too much away.

The figure of the “dog” was first introduced in The Walking Dead as a companion to Lynn Collins’ Leah. After Leah disappears in season 10, Reedus’ Daryl finds and adopts the dog and keeps the simple name “Dog”. Dog survived until the end of the series and was last seen in the series finale of The Walking Dead which aired in 2022. Daryl last saw Dog when he left to search for Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), and Judith (Cailey Fleming) promised to look after the dog.


“It’s so good,” Reedus previously said of working with Seven in an interview with ComicBook. “I love it. I think he’s the smartest cast member we have. We just shot a scene the other day that ended up being the opposite of what it was supposed to be because the dog just wanted to do something different, and it turned out so much better. He’s probably going to run the show. It’s great! I love it. He loves me too.”

“So we talked about how we could show the state of Daryl. And I thought it would be great that he was gone for a while after Rick’s presumed death. Daryl just went away,” then-showrunner Angela Kang also said of Dog’s inclusion in the series, according to Entertainment Weekly. “And Daryl is someone who hunts and goes around and does things, and it seemed like a dog would be a good companion. It shows that he still has a desire to have some kind of connection. And so the dog is his loyal companion.”

Kang also said, “Norman wanted to help choose the type of dog, so he texted me pictures of cute dogs for weeks. And the two dogs that play the dog are great. The main dog is named Seven and is just so sweet and such a great dog. So it’s a lot of fun to finally see Norman working with the puppy.”
