Two men killed in accident on Clinton farm. | WUTR/WFXV

KIRKLAND, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) – Two Syracuse-area men died in a farm accident in the city of Kirkland Thursday morning. Kirkland Police received a 911 call from the Champion Farm on Champion Road in Kirkland. The call was in reference to two men who had fallen into a manure tanker and both became unconscious in the tank.

An investigation by Kirkland Police revealed that a piece of equipment had fallen into the tanker. One of the workers attempted to rescue it, but lost consciousness and fell into the tanker. His colleague attempted to rescue the first worker, but lost consciousness and also fell into the tanker.


The Clinton Fire Department was called to the scene to rescue the victims. The Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Company and Mercy Flight assisted in the transport. Nathan Doody, 33 years old of DeRuyter, NY and Tyler Memory, 29 years old of Tully, NY were taken to Wynn Hospital. They were pronounced dead at the hospital.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office assisted Kirkland Police at the scene. Kirkland Police Department is in charge of the investigation.
