US Army confirms: Moore County soldier dies in off-duty skydiving accident

ABERDEEN, NC (WNCN) — A Moore County soldier was killed in an off-duty accident, the U.S. Army confirmed Thursday.

According to the U.S. Army, Sergeant First Class Dominic Perry, an elite paratrooper from Fort Liberty, died in an off-duty skydiving accident.

According to officials, he suffered serious injuries while participating in a civilian-sponsored high-speed skydiving competition in Whiteville, Tennessee.

Sergeant Perry of Aberdeen served with the US Army Parachute Team for more than four years, according to the US Army.
