Two people arrested for drug offenses after chase in Roanoke

Virginia State Police report that two men were arrested following a chase during a drug raid in the city of Roanoke.

ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia State Police report two men were arrested following a chase as part of a drug operation in the city of Roanoke.

According to VSP, officers attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle occupied by 25-year-old Damarius J’Quan Warrick and 20-year-old Zeleek Keshawn Wright-Johnson. The two were identified as suspected gang members in possession of varying amounts of drugs. The vehicle allegedly refused to stop, and a short chase began.


Members of the Virginia State Police Special Operations Division were able to stop the vehicle in the 3500 block of Valley View Avenue.

During the search of the vehicle, special agents and officers allegedly seized the following:

  • 934 grams of methamphetamine
  • 49 grams of heroin/fentanyl
  • Seven fentanyl pills
  • Four firearms
  • US currency

According to VSP, Warrick and Wright-Johnson were both arrested and charged with:

  • Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine
  • Possession with intent to resell heroin/fentanyl
  • Possession of firearms by convicted felons
  • Possession of a firearm while simultaneously possessing a Schedule I/II narcotic

Both men are currently being held without bail at the Roanoke Adult Detention Center.

This drug operation was conducted by the Star City Drug and Violent Crime Task Force, the United States Postal Service Inspectors Office, and the Roanoke Police Department Gang Interdiction Unit.
