Former Spandau Ballet singer accused of rape: “told woman she deserved it”

A former singer of pop group Spandau Ballet who is accused of raping several women in their sleep told an alleged victim that she “deserved it”, a court heard.

Ross Davidson, 36, who became the group’s frontman for a year in 2018 after original lead singer Tony Hadley left the group, is accused of a series of sexual offenses against five women and the rape of three of them between 2013 and 2023.

Davidson, whose stage name is Ross William Wild, is also accused of voyeurism, intimidation and controlling behavior.

At the opening of his trial at Wood Green Crown Court, north London, the jury was told that Davidson had a “darker side” than the departing pop star he portrayed himself as. He
