Suspect arrested for vandalism of air rifle in Pittsburg

(KRON) — A suspect who police say targeted several businesses with a pellet gun during a months-long campaign of vandalism has been arrested, Pittsburg police said Thursday. The arrest was made in connection with a series of incidents involving businesses on Garcia Avenue.

Vandals fired air rifles at the glass windows of the shops, causing “significant financial damage” amounting to several thousand dollars, police said.

According to police, the owner of the property installed surveillance cameras in response to the attacks. These cameras were used to catch the perpetrator in the act.

The footage provided a lead to Detective Lefterov of the Pittsburg Police Department. Over several weeks, Lefterov collected extensive evidence and identified the suspect in the vandalism incidents, police said.
