LORANGER, Louisiana (WGNO) – An Amber Alert has been issued for two girls who were abducted after their mother was killed in Loranger on Thursday, June 13.

Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff Daniel Edwards said 35-year-old Callie Brunett was found dead on the floor of her bedroom in her locked mobile home on North Cooper Road by her father after her parents reported her missing 24 hours earlier. They had last spoken to her Tuesday morning.

According to Louisiana State Police, her two children, six-year-old Jalie and four-year-old Erin, were kidnapped before 8 a.m.

Erin has brown hair and eyes, is three feet tall, and weighs about 32 pounds. Jalie has brown hair and blue eyes, is four feet tall, and weighs about 58 pounds. It is unknown what type of clothing the girls were wearing at the time of their abduction.

According to police, an unidentified white male is wanted for questioning in connection with a domestic violence incident that ultimately led to Callie’s death. He is believed to be driving her car, a black 2012 Chrysler 200 with Louisiana license plate 859GML. The hubcap is missing from the right rear tire and the rear of the car may be damaged. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.

“This time period is very crucial. We have to find these children,” the sheriff said.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the children or the vehicle is asked to call 911, Lt. Jacob Schwebel at 985-902-2037 or Crimestoppers of Tangipahoa at 1-800-554-5245.
