Robbery suspect critical after shooting involving DeKalb police

STONECREST, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – A robbery suspect was shot while running away Wednesday morning when officers spotted him, a DeKalb County Police Department spokesman said.

Police were searching the area of ​​Evans Mill Road and Mall Parkway for what they said was a “wanted robbery suspect.” They spotted the man on the 2900 block of Evans Mill Road and shots were fired.

According to First Alert Chopper footage, the shooting appears to have occurred in a shopping center parking lot.

No officers were injured and one suspect was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was called in to handle the case for DKPD.
