Former frontman of Spandau Ballet allegedly raped three women and filmed them while they slept

Former Spandau Ballet frontman Ross William Wild has been accused of raping at least three women – and even filming himself abusing his victims in their sleep.

Wild, whose real name is Ross Davidson, is accused of a series of sexual offenses against five women – including one whom he allegedly kept as a sex slave and forced to have sex with several women a day, according to the Times of London.

He was “an extremely manipulative and sadistic person,” prosecutor Richard Hearnden told the jury at London’s Wood Green Crown Court.

The singer became “a bit of a sex symbol” when he fronted the ’80s pop band from 2018 to 2019 until original singer Tony Hadley left, Hearnden said – suggesting it helped him hide his “dark” side.

“He is very good-looking and physically fit. He sings, plays guitar and is considered charming and charismatic,” Hearnden said in court.

“His dark side is not the first thing that many women and girls notice about him. But the women in this case can all attest to this dark part of his personality,” he continued.

Davidson is said to have secretly filmed himself raping a woman after an argument in his north London flat in October 2013, prosecutors said.

The jury was also told that he filmed himself fondling another woman’s breasts.

“According to the plaintiff, the defendant said he had a certain fantasy. He said it was his fantasy, his desire, to have sex with a woman while she was sleeping,” the prosecutor said.

The third victim was allegedly attacked in her sleep in Cannes while Davidson was attending the city’s film festival in May 2018.

This attack, according to the prosecution, was “bizarre and perverse.”

Davidson also allegedly treated a fourth woman like a “sex slave” and filmed himself having sex with her without her consent, the indictment added.

“The defendant was, if these things are true, an extremely manipulative and sadistic person,” the prosecutor said of the alleged abuse.

“She was used as a kind of sex slave. He wanted to have intercourse with her five or six times a night. When she said that was too much, he forced her to have sex with him.”

After being filmed, the woman fled to the bathroom and called her mother to report the attack, the London Times reported, citing the prosecutor’s statement.

A fifth victim is said to have woken up while Davidson was having sex with her, the court was told.

In addition to the rape and sexual assault charges, Davidson is also accused of voyeurism, intimidation and controlling behavior.

He denied all allegations and claimed that all interactions with the alleged victims were consensual.

Davidson joined Spandau Ballet in 2018 after original frontman Tony Hadley left the band. He left the following year and was arrested in May 2021.
