Suspects in Lexington, KY bank robbery arrested in Nashville, TN

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Authorities in Nashville on Wednesday arrested two people in connection with a bank robbery that took place last month in Lexington, Kentucky.

According to Lexington Police, on May 21 at around 4:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Forcht Bank on Southland Drive for a robbery.


Officials said two people entered the bank, demanded money and fled the scene. However, with the help of the Real-Time Intelligence Center’s technology – including traffic cameras and license plate readers – investigators were able to identify the suspects.

On Wednesday, June 12, FBI and Metro Nashville Police Department agents took Markwez Wynn and Stephen Hampton, both 25, into custody in Nashville, authorities said.

According to law enforcement, Wynn and Hampton are being held at the Davidson County Downtown Detention Center as fugitive felons awaiting extradition to Fayette County on charges of first-degree robbery. The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office said Wynn’s bail has been set at $250,000, while Hampton’s bail has been set at $100,000.
