However, Gareth Southgate’s team will face tough competition as Europe’s best teams will risk everything to win.

Premier League officials have taken action in the 2023/24 season and in international football the rules are known to be even stricter.

From David Beckham to Wayne Rooney, the English national team has suffered serious injuries in past tournaments due to the suspension of key players.

What ticket rules apply at the 2024 European Championship?

At the 2024 European Championship, a player will be suspended for his team’s next match if he receives two yellow cards in two different matches.

This resulted in Phil Foden missing England’s 1-0 win over the Czech Republic at Euro 2020, after starting the first two games against Croatia and Scotland, receiving a yellow card in each.

In addition, a player will also be suspended if he accumulates a total of four yellow cards.

UEFA is cracking down on dissent at this tournament, meaning that only the captains are allowed to speak to the referee during matches.

Therefore, yellow cards could be issued regularly and referees could be instructed to immediately caution players who step out of line.

The yellow cards will be deleted after the end of the quarter-finals, so that the players go into the last four with a clean sheet.

However, a red card at any point during the tournament automatically results in a one-match suspension.

Depending on the type of red card, UEFA may impose further sanctions if necessary.

Any suspension received by a team in the last match of the competition will be carried over to the next official match.
