Man dies after mowing accident near I-20 Thomson exit

McDUFFIE COUNTY, Ga. (WJBF) – A man died after an accident in McDuffie County late Wednesday afternoon.

According to the McDuffie County Coroner’s Office, 34-year-old Daniel Hernandez died when he lost control of a tractor while mowing lawn near the Thomson exit of I-20.

The McDuffie County Coroner’s Office says Hernandez was mowing at a steep angle and was apparently thrown from the tractor when it overturned and rolled down a hill.

According to authorities, Hernandez worked for a North Carolina company that contracts to mow lawns in Georgia.

According to the coroner’s office, Hernandez’s body was sent to Atlanta for an autopsy.

This is an ongoing investigation.
