Gypsy Rose Blanchard says she “experimented” with her sexuality in prison

Gypsy Rose Blanchard has revealed that she “experimented” with her sexuality in prison.

The Munchausen awareness activist and social media personality spoke about her identity in the second episode of the Lifetime series Gypsy Rose: Life after prison, The book documents her journey “as a free woman, including reconnecting with family and living together for the first time with her husband, Ryan Anderson.”

“A big part of being a woman is learning to deal with your own sexuality, and that was not the case for me for years,” she said in the episode.

“I doubted my own sexuality for a long time because as a teenager or young adult I felt I was attracted to girls, and in prison I was able to experiment with that.”

She added: “I think I’ve kissed more girls than boys.”

In 2015, Blanchard was sentenced to 10 years in prison after being found guilty of the premeditated murder of her mother, Dee Blanchard, who abused her daughter by faking illnesses and disabilities as a result of Munchausen syndrome by proxy.

Dee was stabbed to death by her daughter’s then-boyfriend, Nicholas Godejohn, who had planned it with Blanchard. Godejohn was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

The case attracted worldwide media attention and Blanchard appeared on shows such as Dr. Phil, Good Morning America, The View, This Morning and – for some reason – The Kardashians.

HBO also released the 2017 documentary Mama is dead and dearest, while the story was dramatized in the Hulu series The act, with Patricia Arquette as Dee and Joey King as Gypsy Rose.
