Pradeep K Vijayan dies: Friend of Thegidi and Hey Sinamika actor found dead at home

Actor Pradeep Vijayan, who acted as a villain and comedian in various films including Thegidi and Hey! Sinamika, was found dead in his house on Wednesday. The actor’s friend found him dead when he went to check on him after not hearing anything for two days. Police are investigating the cause of death and have not yet made an official statement.

Pradeep K Vijayan has died

Actor Pradeep was unmarried and lived alone at Sankarapuram First Street in Palavakkam, Chennai. Recently, he complained of shortness of breath and dizziness. One of his friends went to check on him after not hearing from Pradeep for two days despite numerous calls.

The front door was locked and when Pradeep did not open the door despite his friend’s repeated knocks, the police were informed. Neelankarai police along with the fire brigade broke down the front door. Pradeep was found dead with a head injury. The police have shifted the body to Royapettah Government Hospital.

Pradeep is believed to have died two days ago due to a head injury and a heart attack. However, the Neelankarai police are investigating the cause of death and an autopsy will be conducted on the body.

Soundarya expresses his condolences

As the news broke, people on X (formerly Twitter) poured in their condolences. Singer and actor Soundarya Bala Nandakumar wrote, “Ok, this is a shock. I liked him very much like a brother. No, we never spoke every day but when we did speak once in a blue moon, the affection was still there. You will be terribly missed Pradeep K Vijayan Anna. May your soul rest in peace.”

Pradeep, better known as Pradeep Nair Pappu, made his debut in Tamil cinema in 2013 with the film Sonna Puriyathu directed by Krishnan Jayaraj. He rose to fame with his role as Poornachandran (Sadagoppan) in P Ramesh’s Ashok Selvan and Thegidi, which stars Janani. In the film, he played a detective and his sense of humour made him stand out.

His last film was S Kathiresan’s 2023 film Rudhran, starring Raghava Lawrence. Pradeep was an engineering graduate who chose to work in Kollywood because of his passion for acting. He also worked as a subtitler for films.
