Greg Amsinger Jinxes Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the first pitch

MLB analyst Greg Amsinger made one of the most egregious calling curses in history before Tuesday’s Los Angeles Dodgers game.

As MLB Network finished its recap of the day’s games, Amsinger boldly claimed the Dodgers pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto was on no-hitter alert before throwing to the first pitcher. The Japanese pitcher – who signed a 12-year, $325 million contract in the offseason – has been dominant so far in his first year in the MLB.

“Don’t take this the wrong way, but we are already on alert,” Amsinger said. “Yoshinobu Yamamoto – before he throws a single pitch against the Marlins tonight – we have a no-hitter alert.

“Enjoy what could be a no-hitter from Yamamoto, here on MLB Network.”

This prediction couldn’t have been worse.

On Yamamoto’s very first pitch of the game, Marlins outfielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. took him deep for the leadoff home run.

MLB Network will host after the game Abby Labar showed viewers that Amsinger couldn’t contain his laughter when it happened.

“You could literally see it on his face,” Labar said. “The grin – you knew it was going to happen. Greg, how many times do we have to tell you, “No!” NO!.’ On behalf of my league, I apologize to Yamamoto. This has nothing to do with you and everything

Do it with Greg Amsinger.”
