Man from Manchester sexually abuses minors, there are photos and videos

Police conducted a welfare check at a Manchester residence on March 8 after receiving reports that a 16-year-old girl had been sexually abused, according to an arrest warrant. The victim told investigators that Ayala was her abuser and that Ayala began touching her when she was 8 years old, according to a warrant for his arrest. According to the warrant, the incidents occurred in Vernon and Manchester.

According to the warrant, the victim told investigators that she had evidence to support the allegations and that both she and Ayala had sexually explicit videos and photos of the abuse on their cell phones.

During an interview, Ayala told investigators he had known the victim and her family for more than a decade, the warrant states. It went on to say that Ayala was a “financial supporter” of the girl.

Ayala told investigators that he never had an inappropriate relationship with the girl and only occasionally massaged her shoulders when she was unwell, according to the warrant. The warrant states that when investigators told him about the allegations against him, Ayala “appeared emotionless, as if nothing had happened.”

After investigators obtained a search warrant for Ayala’s devices, they found “hundreds of images and videos of child pornography depicting the victim” on Ayala’s phone, the search warrant states.

The victim told police that the last incident of abuse occurred a week before Ayala’s arrest, but that Ayala assaulted her about five times a week beginning in 2021, the warrant states.

Ayala made threats to the victim and told her that no one would “love” her like he did, the warrant states.

Ayala faces 80 charges, including 20 counts of first-degree sexual assault, 20 counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and 20 counts of risk of injury to a child, court records show.

Additionally, Ayala is charged with first-degree possession of child pornography and tampering with evidence in connection with the sexual abuse case, as police stated in the arrest warrant that he attempted to remove a number of files depicting the sexual abuse from his device to delete the girl.

Court records show Ayala’s bail was set at $500,000 in the abuse case and $300,000 in the pornography case and he remains in police custody. He was scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Tolland on Friday and would appear again in Hartford Superior Court next Wednesday.
