Suspect arrested after stabbing in north Austin: APD

Austin, TexasA suspect has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in north Austin.

Five people were stabbed Sunday night at The Ivy apartment complex at 8912 N Lamar Blvd, near Payton Gin Road. None of the injuries were life-threatening, according to APD.

The affidavit states that one of the victims was listening to music in the parking lot next to his truck while the suspect, 25-year-old Hector Contreras-Uribe, was grilling with his brothers nearby.

Contreras-Uribe began arguing with the victim because his music was too loud. The argument escalated when Contreras-Uribe picked up a rock and threw it at the victim, hitting him in the face.

A physical altercation ensued, during which Contreras-Uribe stabbed the victim multiple times. Contreras-Uribe’s brothers attempted to pull him away to end the altercation.

Then the victim’s father came and saw all three brothers standing around his son. He thought they were all going to fight him. He ran over to help his son and was stabbed in the back and chest by Contreras-Uribe.

The victim then went to his truck, grabbed his knife and stabbed Contreras-Uribe in defense of his father and himself. Contreras-Uribe and his brothers fled the scene and went back to their apartment.
