A Florida City man is in prison threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend over infidelity fears

FLORIDA CITY, Fla. — A 21-year-old Florida City man was arrested Tuesday after threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend, authorities said.

According to his arrest report, Israel Anderson Werry and the victim had been in a sexual relationship for about a year.

They never lived together and had no children together, authorities said.

According to the report, the victim told police that her now-ex-boyfriend was angry with her because he suspected she was seeing other men while he was in prison.

Police said Werry contacted the victim via FaceTime on April 28 and threatened to “kill her, chop her body into pieces and spread the body parts all over her body.”

He also threatened to shoot up her house and send “thugs” there, authorities said.

According to the report, the victim was in fear for her life as Werry is a known gang member in the area.

Police said Werry was initially taken into custody by Miami-Dade police on Tuesday in connection with a separate case, but he is now accused of making written threats of death or physical harm in connection with the incident in Florida City.

As of Wednesday morning, Werry was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where his bond had not yet been set.
