Dangerously hot weather approaching

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Weather days of the first warning are in effect on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday due to dangerous heat and humidity. Heat indices are 100° and above.

An air quality warning applies tomorrow in the greater Nashville area. It is Code Orange: unhealthy for sensitive groups such as the elderly, young children and people with respiratory problems.

FIRST WEATHER WARNING DAY – FRIDAY, SATURDAY, SUNDAY AND MONDAY:

Friday will be hotter than Thursday with highs well above 30 degrees and higher humidity. The heat index will reach 38 degrees and more.

On Saturday and Sunday temperatures will remain above 35 degrees with perceived temperatures in the three-digit range.

Temperatures may reach 38 degrees in one or two places on Sunday! Wear light/loose fitting clothing, take breaks in the shade and stay hydrated throughout the weekend.
