Police arrest climate protesters at Congressional Baseball Game

The US Capitol Police arrested eight climate protesters on Wednesday who jumped onto the field during the Congressional Baseball Game at Nationals Park.

No injuries were reported. The planned disruption, which the climate group Climate Defiance announced on social media on Tuesday, ended quickly after protesters climbed down the fence along the left field line, according to a video released by the advocacy group. Climate Defiance, an opponent of fossil fuels, has disrupted meetings, speeches and events featuring Democratic leaders to raise awareness of the climate crisis.
