Riverside County man arrested for hiding meth and oxycodone pills in seat compartment: Delano PD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – A Riverside County man is in police custody after Delano police found a hidden compartment containing methamphetamine and oxycodone pills in a seat.

On March 4, Delano police officers stopped a Hyundai Sonata at the corner of 9th Avenue and Ellington Street and found that the driver, Modesto Nava Osuna, had an outstanding drug warrant in Riverside County.

Officers searched the Hyundai and found a compartment built into one of the seats that could only be opened with remote latches. The hidden compartment contained two pounds of methamphetamine and over 100 grams of counterfeit oxycodone pills, Delano police said in a news release.

Osuna was arrested on a warrant and several other drug charges.

A few days later, officers obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and found more drugs. The DPD did not disclose how many or which additional drugs were found.

On June 11, a court ordered the vehicle to be scrapped for violating health and safety regulations.
