H2GO issues Level 1 nature conservation warning

LELAND, NC (WECT) – Brunswick Regional Water & Sewer H2GO has issued a Level 1 Water Conservation Alert effective Wednesday, June 12.

The conservation alert is sent when water demand reaches 80% of system capacity on a 7-day average. Excessive watering by customers has nearly doubled demand on water systems in Brunswick County in recent weeks.

Spray irrigation is limited to a maximum of two days per week. For addresses with house numbers, irrigation is limited to Wednesday and Sunday. For addresses with odd house numbers, irrigation is limited to Tuesday and Saturday.

For properly maintained southern turf grasses, 1 inch of water per week is sufficient, according to H2GO.

Visit the H2GO website to learn about water conservation and learn about the voluntary and mandatory water restrictions under the Water Scarcity Response Plan.
