Hearing on ex-MP’s temporary restraining order postponed as criminal investigation continues

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) – A hearing on a domestic violence restraining order filed by a former Kern County sheriff’s deputy against a fellow deputy was postponed Wednesday until late September.

The stay in the Carly Snow v Stephen Wells case was granted after lawyers said they were awaiting the results of a criminal investigation into the matter. A temporary restraining order remains in place.

Snow also obtained a restraining order against another deputy and filed a lawsuit against the county for sexual assault, battery, gender discrimination and retaliation. A hearing on the lawsuit is scheduled for later this month.

Snow claims in court documents that she and Wells had a year-long relationship that recently ended when he drunkenly entered her home in 2018 and demanded sex. She says she refused and he tried to rip her clothes off.

Snow says she rejected his advances and Wells apologized and left. She claims he continued to text her and stalk her.
