14-year-old schoolgirl beaten and raped in Tobago

A GLAMORGAN man has been arrested and is assisting police with their investigations after a 14-year-old Tobago schoolgirl was raped on June 10.

A police source told Newsday that the student flagged down a PH taxi driver to go to school at around 8 a.m., but the driver took a detour to another location where the student was beaten and raped. The source said the child was dropped off on the road near her school.

Newsday has learned that her relatives were contacted and she was taken to Scarborough General Hospital where she was treated.

The investigation is ongoing.
