OU football player arrested by OU police

NORMAN, Okla. (KFOR) – As first reported by SI.com, a member of the Oklahoma high school class was arrested by the OU Police Department on Wednesday.

SI.com reported on Wednesday that Oklahoma’s second defensive back Makari Vickers was arrested by OU police.

The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office said Vickers was arrested by OU police and booked into Cleveland County, but the sheriff’s office could not provide further details.

OU responded: “We are aware of the matter and it is being addressed internally.”

According to SI, the former four-star prospect appeared in eight games as a freshman, recording eight tackles and one pass defense. Vickers came to Oklahoma from Munroe High School in Quincy, FL.
