Shelton man charged with child sexual abuse

SHELTON, Conn. (WTNH) – Connecticut State Police officials say a Shelton man is facing multiple counts of child sexual abuse after an investigation discovered obscene material on his computers – some of which he had created himself.

Ross DeLibro, 53, was charged with using a minor in an obscene performance, encouraging a minor in an obscene performance and first-degree criminal possession of child pornography.

Connecticut State Police, with assistance from the Shelton Police Department, executed a search warrant for DeLibros’ address on May 1. Police said the computers and electronic devices they seized from the residence contained evidence of the distribution, possession and production of child sexual abuse material.

Some of the materials depict DeLibro himself engaging in obscene conduct toward a minor victim; the child was two years old at the time the images were taken.

DeLibro was arrested on June 11 and held on a court-set bail of $250,000. He is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on June 12.

Police said the investigation was still ongoing.
